Alexandros

Ahh, I'm doing such a terrible job of keeping up with this blog. My excuse is I haven't been drawing much. I just started painting and I've been doing a lot of writing with Devin. Which brings me to this.

This is Devin's character Alexandros Falor, Alex for short. Devin asked me to draw references for him because he plans to do an animation with them so this won't be the last you see of him!!! The pose is a little unnatural, but I needed an open and closed hand/bent and outstretched arm. Full frontals are difficult for me to proportion out, especially with the face. I kept drawing the eyes too low until I used a reference of Light from Death Note...just to see where the eyes were in relation to the hair and whatnot. I'm pretty pleased :]. BTW, the sword is made of Stygian iron.

And I think that's all for tonight, kids. I'll try to post again soon.

Day of Pink

Day of Pink!

Goal:The goal of DayofPink.org is to bring this message across the world, through an international day of action that anyone can take part in. We encourage groups to not only wear pink in support of Diversity, but to also hold events and activities that will engage their community.

What to do: Wear Pink! In any way shape and form! The more the better! Have fun with this! Spread Love for the diversity of human expression!

When: NEW DATE: April 14, 2010!

History:DayofPink is a day of action, born when a youth in a high school in Cambridge, Nova Scotia was bullied because he wore a pink shirt to school. His fellow students decided to stand up to bullying; and hundreds of students came to school wearing pink to show support for diversity and stopping discrimination, bullying and homophobia.

Why Participate? Across the world discrimination continues to be the leading source of conflict. Discrimination is racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, anti-semitism... and many others. These social diseases affect how we work, study and treat one another; and they create barriers, bullying, harassment, hate and violence. DayofPink is more than just a symbol of a shared belief in celebrating diversity - it's also a commitment to being open minded, to being understanding of differences and to learning to respect each other.

venture out the dark dreamer must

First sketch in the new place on my new tablet!
Rough sketch of one of my new chars, Milo (Mee-low). He's 14, has caramel skin, brown hair, and blue eyes (think Warrick Brown from CSI: Las Vegas). He's a terrible ladies man. Milo loves to run. And his badassness includes creating and manipulating dreams, and being able to see dreams if he's in the vicinity of a sleeping person/persons. The end.

Aside from that, I want to thank everyone for your patience! I should be updating more regularily now. At LEAST once a week, if not more! :] Feel free to leave questions/comments! :]]

My apologies

March has been an insane month for me and I thank you for your patience.

I haven't had a whole lot of time to artwork due to working so much at my job last week. I'm hoping to have some sketches done tomorrow so I can update.

I'm having company later this week, followed by my birthday, then I am moving next week.

I will try to update within that time period, even if it's just a tiny sketch. After the 2nd week of April my updates will be more regular again.

THANK YOU FOR WATCHING! <3

stereotype sketches

Done for body language exercises I had too much fun with. Enjoy.

Sketchwork

As I said in my previous update, my parents came to visit this past weekend. We had a great time! :]

Because of their trip, though, I hadn't had a whole lot of time to draw, so what I did today was put together a collage of sketches I may or may not finish eventually.

Up top left we have a silly sketch of me, and below me is Devin. I meant for these to be our dA IDs, but I doubt that will happen. Top right is perspective Sikris tossing a cigarette butt (smoking is very, very bad!). Underneath Si is Oserin having her morning coffee before her run. This may be finished eventually. Aside from Os is the human version of my horse char Lucia. I'm still working out her design and this was just my first sketch. I very much like the marking over her nose. Below Lucia is a quick tablet sketch of Oserin. I mentioned in a previous update that I may be doing some character makeovers and this was the first sketch. I was also trying out my new tablet!

My birthday is coming up soon, and since my parents were here to visit early, they gave me my present early. It was a new Wacom Bamboo pen tablet. I absolutely love it!!! My first tablet was a Wacom Graphire 4 which worked really well. I kind of wanted to upgrade though, just to see how it would effect my work.

I recommend this tablet! More details on that, later, though ^_~

Until then!

doodle

Well, I've been a little bit busy because I just started a new job, so I haven't had a whole lot of time this week so far to concentrate on some artwork. Tonight I just decided to doodle a bit.

I attempted to focus on color and a random background. Plus I'm trying to improve my raw tablet work. My first design of a new char. Her name is Sasha and I'm not sure how often she'll show up on deviantART. I know for sure that her hair will not ever be that blonde again.

Anyway, just practice! Enjoy!

BTW, my parents are visiting for an extended weekend, so I'm not sure if I'll be updating until next week! Just a heads up!!! :]
